Runners competing at Malaysia Ultra-Trail by UTMB has the opportunity to team up and challenge each other for the Team Challenge Trophies.

TEAM CHALLENGE
TERMS:
Each team
a. Consists of 5 individual runners
b. All runners must be from the same institution / group
c. At least one member of the opposite gender
d. Each runner must be registered as an individual runner for a race in the 2025 Malaysia Ultra-trail by UTMB
Each runner may choose the following distance of their choice in the event: MY100, MY50, MY25 or MY13
Team captain is to register team’s name and the final team member names by 31 August 2025. Sign up HERE
Changes of team members will not be allowed after 31 August 2025 2359HR (GMT+8).
Each runner can only be associated with one group / institution. If found associated with more than one group, both groups will be disqualified from competing in this team challenge.
By participating in the challenge, the teams and the runners affected hereby agree to abide by the rules and regulations as mentioned in the event website.
RACE RULING & SCORING
All 5 members MUST complete the full race within the Cut off time for the team to qualify for prizes.
Point (KME/minute) formulation:
TOTAL KME COMPLETED / TOTAL TIME TAKEN (total minutes)
Followings are the KME for the respective distances:
i) MY100 = 145.6 KME
ii) MY50 = 75 KME iii) MY25 = 38.6 KME iv) MY13 = 17.4 KMETo enhance the fairness of the challenge and to encourage women participation in the event, all women’s finishing time will be subjected to the following time deduction
i) MY100 – 2 hours (120 mins)
ii) MY50 – 1 hours (60 mins)
iii) MY25 – 30 mins
iv) MY13 – 15 mins
The points (KME/Minute) will be ranked from the highest to the lowest.
The top 3 teams will be awarded with challenge trophies.
In the event of a tie, the fastest time of the woman member in the longer distance will be the determining factor for team classification.
All decisions made for the competition by the organization is final. The organiser deserves the right to make any changes to the rules as and when it is needed.
