How to get there

Taiping is located at the North West of Peninsular Malaysia. The city is accessible internationally through Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Ipoh airports. Transportation into the city of Taiping can be by car, buses or trains.

FLIGHTS

The easiest access from international ports to Taiping is through Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and Penang International Airport (PEN).

There are selected airlines that fly from Singapore into the Ipoh International Airport (IPH) which is about 1.5 hours by car to Taiping.

DRIVING

  1. From Kuala Lumpur A direct highway from Kuala Lumpur into Taiping takes about 2.5 - 3 hours drive.

  2. From Penang A direct highway from Penang into Taiping takes about 1.5 hours drive.

  3. From Ipoh The drive from Ipoh into Taiping takes about 1 - 1.5 hours.

BUS

A scheduled bus ride takes about 6-7 hours from Airport to Taiping town. There will be a stopover at the Kuala Lumpur city center bus terminal in the journey to Taiping.

TRAIN

Train services are available from KL Sentral Station (KL city) to Taiping Town Station. The service is known as the ETS Intercity Train. Cost is about RM45 - RM70 per trip and takes about 3 hours. More information & bookings can be done here.

From Kuala Lumpur International Airport (Terminal 1 or Terminal 2), you will need to take the KLIA express train to KL Sentral Station first. Cost is about RM 50 per trip and takes about 35mins. More information and bookings can be done here
